Clunky and stuck in the past

The inreach user interface is completely different than the app you get for other inreach devices (there is zero continuity). If the screen times out when you're disconnected from power, it drops back to the home screen, and the mapping software both on the divide and on the web are outdated and clunky. Additionally, you're stuck with the software that came on your device, you can't upgrade the software to the chase/race level if you buy the overland model. Might as well use a tablet with onx and downloaded maps, it's easiest to operate and cheaper.

Hi Tim, we're sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with your Garmin Tread XL. It seems like you were looking for the Chase/Race version, which does have a different interface and software. Just to clarify, the Chase/Race version does come at a higher price point of $300 more. Absolutely love this system. This system is much easier to use and shows the trails much better than other units I have used in the past.. I am using it in my Can Am and when your running, you don't want to have to remember to push a bunch of sequences of buttons to find what you need. This is as easy as tapping your phone to find or do what you need. The screen is big and clear as well.

Real easy to set-up and use.
